May 1, 2009 (Issue #0) – ElectroCityBeatz: What kind of music do you produce?
Moi: I produce music ranging from Techno, Progressive and Trance. Most of my tracks have a dark tribal feel to them, regardless of genre. It just depends on what type of music I am playing at the time or how I’m feeling when I start a new production.
ECB: How and why did you start producing?
Moi: I had a few friends that where already making beats so I asked them to teach me. I would go over to their homes and just work on tracks. After a while I started developing my own style and just kept doing it. I started making music because, well, I love electronic music. I wanted to be more intimately involved with the music industry and making music was a great way for me to do that. Also, since I started to Dj, I had this overwhelming sensation to make my own music and play my own tracks, and luckily, I was able to achieve that.
ECB: What do you use to make music?
Moi: I use various programs and instruments to make music. I normally use Ableton Live 7 and Cubase SX3. I also use a whole array of VST’s (virtual instruments). Some of the ones I use the most are the Battery 3, the Predator, Reasons, the Albino and the Vanguard. Lastly, I use a Korg Triton as well when I need to.
ECB: Are you under any record labels?
Moi: I am under a few labels. The first one is my own label, Binge Records. I have several releases on Binge and have many more planned. I am also on Bit Records Mexico, Nightrain Music, and I recently did a remix for Reticent Recordings. Now a day’s though, most of my own work comes out under Binge Records. The main reason is that we have a great distribution partner that has Binge on over 150 digital stores all around the world including Beatport, therefore it just makes sense to put out my best music on Binge.
ECB: What are your goals?
Moi: My goals are very simple; to make great dance music that others can enjoy.
ECB: Do you have a website or myspace? What is it?
Moi: I have several websites, they are listed below: www.djmoi.com // www.myspapce.com/djmoii www.binge-records.com // www.myspace.com/bingerecords Go Back…
